Giant Stompy Robot Goodness

I have a soft spot for Giant Stompy Robots. It’s not much of a secret that I’ve been following the current round of powersuit experiments with interest and, occasionally, a flash or two of covetousness. There’s some truly impressive military kit out there, and the medical stuff is getting pretty funky too. So I was childishly delighted by the release of Soundroid Rampage a couple of days ago.

It’s a mad little iPhone app that uses the phone’s motion sensors augment your normal walking with giant stompy robot noises. Because we all know that’s utterly pointless, it also provides you with a laser beam that you can either just fire off from the gorgeously designed main console screen. You can also opt to build a power charge instead, complete with pretty graphics and lovely swirly sounds, and then unleash a massive thumpy blast of doom.

It’s not going to revolutionise my life, but Soundroid Rampage is at least a bit of a stop-gap until I can actually have my powersuit :)

Posted in games, wtf.
