Random Round-up

It’s been an odd day on the web today, so to make up for not having the time to post properly yesterday after my site-shuffling joy, I thought I’d share some of the stuff that’s been making me blink so far today.

The Scientific American has revealed that, in a case of life imitating horror art, a mind-boggling fungus is able to turn ants into suicidal zombie slaves and force them to fulfil its extremely specific and unpleasant desires.

Following on nicely, if you ever wanted to start your own evil, exploitative mind control cult and brainwash loads of vulnerable people into giving you all their money, love and sexual favours, then help is at hand. Mind Control Cults: How To Become A Cult Leader is a wonderful video outlining detailed step-by-step instructions on how to take your recruit and turn them into your very own zombie slave. Awesome!

Cracked.com has provided us with this rather delightful little illustration weighing up the two sides of the Moon Landing Hoax conspiracy.

The Movie Picture Association of America has admitted the fact that it was totally misrepresenting the amount of movie piracy taking place on college campuses.

And, tragically, screenwriter and writing coach Blake Snyder has died of a heart attack at the age of 52. He’s been best known recently for his wonderful book “Save the Cat”, which details story structure and writing techniques for a punchy movie-ready story.

Posted in internet, news, wtf.
